Capacity building on life cycle approaches

One of the main activities within the Life Cycle Initiative to put life cycle thinking into practice is capacity building on life cycle approaches that emerged from the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg (2002) as a key condition for effective implementation of the reaffirmed Agenda 21 and Millennium Development Goals commitments.

Capacity building in the Life Cycle Initiative

Capacity building is an integrated part of the five work areas in Phase 2: Life Cycle Approaches Methodologies and Data, Life Cycle Approaches for Resources and Impacts, Life Cycle Management in Businesses and Industries, Life Cycle Approaches for Consumption Clusters and Life Cycle Approaches for Capability Development. In addition, the International Life Cycle Board has identified the following options to build capacity on life cycle approaches:
