The Chemical Information Exchange Network (CIEN) is a network of people involved in the management of chemicals.
It is:
A mechanism that helps networking and collaboration among various stakeholders
responsible for the environmentally sound management of chemicals

A way to link people at the national level through the use of a shared Web site

A means to create regional and international networks by linking national Web sites, and

A framework that helps the access to and exchange of chemical information that supports national decision-making and the implementation of multi-lateral environmental agreements (MEAs).

- Demonstrate the use of CIEN to access chemicals management information
- Provide training to the POPRC member and other stakeholders involved in sound management of chemicals ways to:
1 Access technical and legal information on chemicals for their sound management
2 Access information related to POPRC and the GMP ongoing work
3 Access specialized data bases

Stakeholders Meeting

The main objective of the stakeholders meeting is to:
- Introduce the CIEN project and linkage with the POPRC and other GMP related work
- Discuss country priorities and needs for information exchange
- Introduce project activities in collecting and gathering national data for sound management of chemicals
- Agree on road map for the project implementation
